Scapegoated!
While everyone was enjoying their weekend, I worked.
Having a Friday as night duty and slept on Saturday.
Scrubbed from 10am until 12mid night on the Sunday….. LIVER RECIPIENT!
Talk about that, I have story to tell…..
The poor 5-year-old child suffer from maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) and the family decided to have a liver transplanted.
That’s why I worked on Sunday and continuously standing for 14 hours!
Actually it ended at 11 hours later, which is around 9pm. After the mass closure, the radiologists detected NO blood flow in the hepatic artery and the professor decided to send the child for an urgent CT angio.
Upon the result of the CT angio, the child needed to be sent back to theatre for reopening.
So actually the artery was thrombosis (blood clot formation)! and reanastomosis done and this made me stay for another 3 hours!
I was so tired at the end of the night after washing and clearing up the instruments that I concussed until Monday 4pm!
During my sleep, my nurse manager called me. He claimed that I lost two micro-instruments from two different sets!
What the hell! It woke me up completely!!
After that he told me that TSSU had found one micro-instrument among the loose instruments and the other one remained lost.
You know what, I WASHED. COUNTED and SENT those micro-instruments personally back to TSSU and left them on a TROLLEY!!
How can they said they found one of the micro among the loose instruments?!?!?!?!?!
They scapegoated me!!
Angry..!
They’re still searching for the other micro-instruments………..
The missing dilator cound be ended up retained in patient body…..but I’ve done my instruments count. So that should be out of question….
